Pelican State Credit Union is searching for an outgoing, self-driven candidate to join our Business Development team. This Full-Time Business Development Representative will be based out of our Monroe Branch located at 2880 Louisville Ave Suite 1. They will be the face of Pelican and should exemplify the culture that has earned us the honor of being named one of the Best Places to Work in Baton Rouge for five years in a row! A positive attitude and a heart for service are imperative for joining our team! 

We rely on our Business Development Representatives to secure, maintain, and nurture current and new business partnerships we call Select Employer Groups (SEGs). Our SEGs make up a large portion of our membership base so ensuring that our relationships are top notch is very important! Our Business Development Representatives attend various meetings and make presentations in the community and/or with trade associations. They make contact with current and potential customers within their assigned territory via telephone, frequent site visits, letters, emails, and direct mail campaigns. Our ideal candidate is a strong, effective communicator who is comfortable with public speaking and thrives in a sales environment! 

All candidates who wish to be considered must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Candidates should possess a two year college degree or have completed a specialized course of study at a business school and have 1-3 years of similar or related experience to include marketing and/or business development. Prior experience in a financial institution is a plus but is not required. Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 pm and must also be available to attend events, as necessary, on nights and weekends. Travel is also required, and the ideal candidate will be able to travel in and around the area north of Interstate 20.
