Southwest Louisiana Credit Union is proud to announce the launch of their First Time Home Buyer Savings Program, "A Hand Up to Homeownership." This program is specifically designed to support and educate first-time home buyers in Southwest Louisiana through a series of classes that will assist participants through the homeownership process while giving them valuable knowledge and tools to make informed decisions along with a savings match aspect.
Purchasing a home can be a complex and overwhelming process, especially for first-time buyers. Southwest Louisiana Credit Union understands the challenges faced by these individuals and is committed to providing them with the resources and guidance they need to achieve their dreams of homeownership.
This program will consist of a series of classes that cover various aspects of the home buying process. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts and gain a comprehensive understanding of the steps involved in buying a home and how they can utilize this new knowledge to make the most informed decisions.
In addition to the educational aspect, participants in the program will also have access to special savings accounts specifically designed to help them save for their first home. With the help of a Certified Financial Counselor, participants will create and execute a plan to save $1,000 over a maximum period of 90 days. Once they’ve completed this savings challenge, Southwest Louisiana Credit Union will match their savings 5:1, bringing their total savings to $6,000.
