Each year in October, NFCU’s employees gather for Neighbors Day – a city-wide day of service to give back to the Greater Baton Rouge Area. Employee volunteers partner with a dozen organizations in GBR to contribute more than 1,000 hours of service to the community. This year’s efforts were recognized by Mayor Sharon Weston Broome’s office, who officially proclaimed October 14th, 2024, as Neighbors Day.
Neighbors Day was established after the Baton Roug e-area flood with countless employees and members deeply affected. NFCU staff members went out into the community to support their coworkers and neighbors in need, leaving a lasting impression. An annual day of service was established in their honor.
The mission of Neighbors Day is to not only provide much-needed assistance to those in need but to inspire others in Baton Rouge to give back to the community as part of the Neighbors Capital Area Foundation.
