Meritus Credit Union is excited to announce the promotion of José Montero to Vice President of Finance. In his new role, Montero will oversee the Accounting, Compliance, and Quality Assurance teams.
Montero recently celebrated 10 years of service with Meritus Credit Union. He previously held the positions of Internal Auditor Supervisor and Accounting Manager where he led card services, compliance, internal audit, risk management and accounting iniatives. Montero served as President and Vice President of the Lafayette Chapter of Credit Unions and was a Louisiana Credit Union League 2021 Emerging Leader finalist.

Montero is a graduate of CUNA Management School, Belmont Abbey College (B.S. in Accounting/Business Management) and Gardner-Webb University (Masters in Accountancy)
