La Cap Rewards Program Dispersal Tops $1 Million in Fourth Year

La Capitol Federal Credit Union greatly appreciates its membership and has documented more than a million ways to express the sentiment over a four-year period. The credit union thanked its member-owners by depositing more than $305,000 into their accounts through its Membership Rewards program in 2024.

The Membership Rewards program started in 2020 as a way to express member appreciation and, after four years, the program has given more than $1,270,000 to members. Members earn money as they use La Capitol’s products and services.

Five categories of accounts are linked to rewards: Checking, savings, auto loans, credit cards, and mortgages. The more La Capitol products a member uses, the more they can earn in rewards. “That extra cash is our way of expressing gratitude to our members for their continued loyalty and support,” La Capitol President and CEO Michael Hooper said. “Our mission is the improve the financial well-being of our members and Membership Rewards is a yearly reminder of our commitment to that goal.”

Credit union are financial cooperatives that provide traditional banking services. "The key is that members are owners," Hooper said. "And the profits of the institution are passed to them through better rates on loans and savings, lower fees and programs like member rewards."

The 2024 Membership Rewards were distributed to 10,785 members. Learn more about La Cap’s Membership Rewards by visiting https://www.lacapfcu.org/membership-rewards.
