VP of Operational Support Services: Baton Rouge

Campus Federal Credit Union is seeking a Vice President of Operational Support Services to join our team! The primary purpose of this position is to assist Campus Federal in our Mission, to enhance the lives of our members and the communities we serve. This is accomplished by developing a highly effective team of employees to their highest potential through coaching and leadership and by providing excellent service to members and to team members. This position plans, organizes and directs the credit union’s operational systems and support functions to ensure excellence in member experiences through efficient and consistent operations to include but not limited to: cash management and payment systems, core banking platform and integrated third-party applications, ATM/ITM services, plastic cards, and shared branching.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and monitor Operational Systems and Support activities in accordance with Campus Federal’s strategic direction.
  • Plan, coordinate, direct, and monitor operational activities to include: core banking platform operations, ACH processing, check processing, remote deposit capture, electronic payments, wire transfers, mail processing, ATM/ITM services, ATM/Debit/Credit card services, shared branching, document management, information security, and disaster recovery as it pertains to these areas. Identifies issues and solutions and takes appropriate courses of action.
  • Direct and oversee compliance as it relates to Mastercard, EMV, instant issuance and plastic standards.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation and continuous monitoring and maintenance of fraud mitigation controls associated with plastic cards, checks and payments while ensuring dispute processing (charge-backs, returns, etc.) is handled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Research, recommend and oversee implementation of new applications related to operational systems.
  • Provide direction and support for solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. Work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology and/or application solutions that drive efficiencies.
  • Participate with other corporate managers to develop and execute short- and long-range strategic and operational plans, policies, programs and systems.
  • Manage department operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, project planning, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • Benchmark, analyze, report and make recommendations for the improvement, efficiency and reduction of costs of support technology (mainframe, imaging, software enhancements, remote deposit capture, etc.).
  • Develop and implement all policies and procedures associated with security, disaster recovery, standards, quality assurance, and service provisions as it relates to the Operational Systems and Support area.
  • Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourced, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Manage department staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions in accordance with personnel policies.
  • Develop, track, and control the annual operating and capital budgets; participate in annual budget development.
  • Direct the training of others on new software enhancements that are introduced by systems managed.
  • Direct and oversee annual disaster recovery testing of our core platform.
  • Work as project facilitator (duties are described in the project management policies and guidelines) on assigned projects.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 7 years of experience in financial institution operations.

This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA. Candidate must have the ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship.
