TITLE: LOAN OPERATIONS MANAGER

REPORTS TO: PRESIDENT/CEO and/or EVP

SUPERVISES: LOAN OPERATIONS SPECIALISTS AND COLLECTIONS DEPT.

POSITION PURPOSE: · Ensures federal / state lending laws, lending policies and procedures are in place, monitored and adhered to. Manage the day-to-day operation of the loan and collection department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that consumer, business and mortgage loan policies, procedures, services, products, and documentation meet federal and state regulations.
  • Construct, maintain and train a loan manual /procedures for the branch lenders and loan department, which is consistently updated to compile with internal guidelines and that meets all regulations and requirements.
  • Keep abreast of general economic conditions / lending trends that may affect the credit union’s loan portfolio, production and collections. Provide timely feedback.
  • Become proficient in the Credit Union’s core computer system (Fiserv-Portico) and other Fiserv and third-party products.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor’s rates and terms and other trends relating to consumer lending. Construct products, rates, and terms that reflect the marketplace.
  • As part of the ALM Committee, provide input and recommendations for loan and deposit interest rates.
  • Complete and monitor monthly loan reports for accuracy and trends.
  • Ensure loan approvals and denials are reviewed for safety and soundness.
  • Ensure loan files are audited to ensure lending policies are followed.
  • Ensure adequate understanding of the credit union’s loan procedures and policies.
  • As part of the Credit Committee, to approve or deny loan applications.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong leadership/supervisory abilities.
  • Maintain/present a professional image at all times.
  • Able to interact with management, staff, members, the community, etc.
  • Possess knowledge of current laws/regulations and capable of staying current with them. Stay current with credit union internal policies.
  • Have knowledge and expertise to analyze and investigate credit and financial data to evaluate credit requests.
  • Must have excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Must be organized and possess attention to detail and accuracy in all documentation.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently.
