Loan Officer: Slidell

This position will reside at the NODA Federal Credit Union’s main office located at 720 Roberts Road, Slidell, La. 70458. The incumbent will be the primary loan officer and will fulfill all duties and tasks associated with processing loan requests timely and accurately from beginning to end; document and provide information about Credit Union (CU) products and services according to CU policies and procedures and Federal and State rules and regulations; interview and evaluate applicants for routine loans and verify/certify all loan application processing; Gather and analyze applicants’ background and credit history information; approve or deny loan applications based on analysis and policy and operate with moderate credit authority.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing applicants and obtaining credit bureau reports. Assist members with the loan application process to ensure completeness of information. Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify debts, and estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed and include to debts on application. Calculate debt-to-income ratios on loan applicants. Calculate how much of a loan applicant’s debt is secured or unsecured. Determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans. Approve or deny loan applications as appropriate and consult with the Credit Committee on loans denied. Provide financial counseling and explanations to members as requested and applicants on disapproved loans. Seek alternative options or solutions if applicable to grant loans. Verify the accuracy of loan amounts and repayment terms on approved loan applications. Prepare reports, including End of the Month (EOM) reports, for Credit Committee; new and denied loans; and risk-based lending performance. Track the receipt of automobile titles and/or liens for collateral loans. Handle weekly paperwork to place NODA liens for refinance titles or any title transfers. Check and file new titles for new loans. Handle all GAP claims. Submit paperwork for Credit Union National Association, CUNA. Guide and assist other loan processors as needed in addition to other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Provide resume and all associated documentation that shows experience level obtained to fulfill the requirements of this position including references.
