Job description Description: VALEX Federal Credit Union is looking for a responsible, detail-oriented person, with experience in consumer lending, to assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs, explain services, set up new accounts and interviews, process and determine loan requests and make credit decisions. Candidate will have lending authority after properly trained.
Responsibilities: Interview members and review loan applications to develop information concerning loan needs. Assist members with opening and closing all types of accounts, process wire requests, and answer questions about products and services offered by the Credit Union. Explain loan programs to members and recommend loan options and products. Process and analyze current financial position and determine risk in extending credit. Make decision to approve based on lending policy or forward request to credit committee. Prepare loan documents, fund and close loan with member, explaining terms and conditions. Meet or exceed referral and insurance product goals. Expectations: Prepare loan documents accurately and in accordance with polices and guidelines. Ensure loan documentation is accurate and includes all information needed to decision loan. Make additional product recommendations during the loan process. Meet or exceed the referral goal each month. Meet or exceed insurance product goals monthly. Open accounts and process wires as needed. Provide informed and professional assistance to all members and associates. Communicate with staff and Management as needed
Knowledge & Skills: Minimum of six months of similar or related experience. A high school education or GED. Kindness, discretion, courtesy, and tact are essential elements to this job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Must be computer literate with excellent communication skills. Must be accurate with numbers and names
