Jefferson Parish Employees FCU is looking to hire a full-time Branch Manager for our Eastbank branch locations.  The Branch Manager guides and manages their team at multiple branch locations to provide quality service to member’s financial needs, while ensuring the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth plans. They must be able to supervise, motivate, coach, and develop their team regarding all aspects of branch management. The Branch Manager should have a positive, can-do attitude, is a self-starter, a problem-solver, and has a strong passion for developing others.

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and provide continuous training & coaching to motivate member service representative/teller.
  • Supervise multiple branch facilities, with responsibility for overall physical maintenance.
  • Assist on the teller line as needed.
  • Assist with interviewing and selecting potential new employees.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
  • Ensures all Credit Union policies and procedures are being followed and assist with developing, applying and evaluate policies and procedures for the branch.
  • Evaluate the job performance of branch office teller to ensure quality of work and service to members.
  • Schedule and conduct performance reviews for staff annually and as needed.
  • Balance vault cash and disperse money to replenish cash dispenser and member service representatives. Serve as vault teller, which includes ordering the cash from the Federal Reserve, verifying cash received, filing teller cash orders, maintaining full vault security, and balancing cash nightly.
  • Order, receive and verify cash for the branch.
  • Ship out coin to the Federal Reserve.
  • Ensure that the branch is compliant with Federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, cash over and shortages, teller sales, new accounts, staff attendance and punctuality, etc.
  • Supervise the security and safety for the branch, with responsibility to analyze security and safety policies and procedures and to alert the teller of any changes.
  • Manage the lending function for the branch, with overall responsibility for all lending activity.
  • Maintain a cross-selling environment at the branch office.
  • Supervise the activities of the member service/teller area by assigning work, answering questions, solving problems, helping with complex transactions and sensitive member relation problems, explaining policies and procedures to members, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of all state and federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the cashier/teller area.
  • Investigate teller losses and institute corrective flow of work.
  • Oversees proper availability of daily cash and money orders for the branch.
  • Balance coin machine daily.
  • Balance branch checks received, disbursed, money orders, stamps, transfer clearing and on us transfer clearing.
  • Keep abreast of all Credit Union Marketing and promotions.
  • Assist Loan Department with processing loan specials when necessary.

Job Specifications

  • Must be a Branch Supervisor or have equivalent experience that meets the job requirements above.
  • Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for supervising a branch teller, communicating with member services and a teller and projecting a positive image as a representative of the Credit Union.
  • Work requires knowledge of all Credit Union policies and procedures and all branch services and products. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of the Credit Union movement preferred.
  • The ability to work overtime, when necessary, by staying late or coming in early sometime with little notification ahead of time.
  • Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through completion of a high school education plus course work in business, finance, human resources or a related field.
  • This job requires standing the majority of the day and occasional twisting, reaching at above and at below shoulder level, kneeling, finger dexterity, handling or feeling objects, tools or controls, talking and hearing.
  • This job requires occasional lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds.
  • This job requires traveling between branches and irregular work hours.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
