Four Students Awarded CSE FCU's "Smart Future" Scholarship

CSE Federal Credit Union recognized four recent high school graduates with scholarship awards during the credit union’s virtual 78th Annual Meeting on May 5, 2022. Brynn Mayo, Ceyanna Brown, Clara LeDoux and John Robert Vinson, Jr., each received $1,000 toward their continued education at a college or vocational school program of their choice. 

Brynn Mayo graduated with honors from homeschooling. Brynn was a dual enrollment student at SOWELA technical community college for two years. She will transfer to McNeese State University as a sophomore for the upcoming school year, where she will complete her Business Management degree. For the past six years, Brynn was involved in a local children’s theater, community service projects and her church youth group.

Ceyanna Brown graduated from South Cameron High School. Ceyanna was actively involved with 4-H, Jr. Leaders, FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, BETA and National Honor Society. Her interests include, reading, crochet, and showing her rabbits, miniature cows and poultry. She will attend McNeese State University this fall, where she will major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. After McNeese, Ceyanna plans on attending LSU's veterinary program. Upon completion of her degree, she intends to open her own large animal clinic and travel to make farm calls so that she can serve Cameron and Calcasieu Parish communities. 

Clara LeDoux graduated Welsh High School where she was selected as 2021-2022 Student of the Year. Clara was involved in BETA Club, FBLA Club, Library Club, was Class Reporter and played varsity basketball and volleyball where she was awarded Academic All-State for both sports. Clara plans on attending Louisiana State University in the fall, where she will major in Biological Sciences. Upon completion of her degree, Clara plans to attend medical school.

John Robert Vinson, Jr. graduated from Westlake High School where he was selected as the 2021-2022 Student of the year.  Throughout his time at Westlake High School, John was active in athletics, playing all sports and in numerous clubs and organizations.  He served as the President of FBLA and Beta Club and held the state vice president’s office for Louisiana FBLA.  Active with community service and his church, First Baptist of Moss Bluff.  John plans to attend Louisiana Tech in the fall. 

CSE “Smart Future” Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship Management Services, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals.
